A table worth sitting at
We were tired of recipe sites that bury the method under ads and life stories, and of cookbooks that call for ingredients no one can find. So we built the opposite: 10,008 recipes, each one tested until it works in a normal kitchen, written to be followed and nothing more.
The food spans the whole Mediterranean and its neighbors -- Italian, Greek, Spanish, French, Levantine, Moroccan, Turkish -- because that is how people on this coast actually eat: across borders, with the seasons, and always around a shared table.
10,008
Tested recipes across 18 Mediterranean cuisines.

Meet the kitchen
A small team of cooks, writers, and one very particular buyer.
Yannis Petrou
Yannis grew up between a fishing village on the Aegean and a restaurant kitchen in Miami, and Gour Mediterranee is his attempt to put both on one plate. He spent fifteen years cooking the Greek and Levantine coast before turning to teaching the food he loves to home cooks.
Sofia Marchetti
Sofia trained in Bologna and Marseille and has an unfashionable devotion to doing simple things properly. She leads recipe development, which mostly means cooking each dish until it works with what a home kitchen actually has on hand.
Layla Haddad
Layla runs the test kitchen and writes much of what you read here. A Beirut native and a stubborn recipe tester, she believes a recipe is not finished until someone who has never cooked it can follow it and succeed.
Marco Alvarez
Marco chooses every knife, pan, and tin of oil in the shop. A former restaurant buyer, he has strong opinions about cookware and a low tolerance for anything that does not last.
Elena Costa
Elena looks after the members: the questions, the requests, the running conversation about what to cook next. She spent a decade in hospitality and treats the inbox like a dining room.
